I did something about it

I was so pissed off by the West's coverage of the adoption issue that I did something I don't normally do - I wrote a letter -- and it got published!
You can find it in the top left hand corner of the Letters section of today's (Monday's) paper.
The letters coverage of this issue in The West has been disturbingly one-sided (strangely enough, as one-sided as the West's editorial) and so it is a bit of a relief to see my letter printed.

Damnit Johnsy, just for you I broke my year-long ban on reading The West’s Letters to the Editor page and, against my better judgment, read the entire page, including the bright spark who called gap adoption obscene and “tantamount to child abuse”. Your letter was great but I’m putting the ban back in place. That shit is too depressing.

You should have seen the letters last friday. They were horrific.

I saw your letter, good points. There's another letter by a journo I know in there too. Great minds and all that obviously...
